Common Brown Snake
(Pseudonaja textilis)

This is a fast, easily disturbed snake found in dry areas.

It feeds upon mice, rats, birds, other reptiles and frogs. It lays up to 35 eggs which incubate for 6-8 weeks.

The young when hatched are 20cm long and quite often strongly banded. This banding fades and disappears with maturity.

The Common Brown Snake attains a length of 2m.
